It is a hideaway inn located away from the town of Kiso Fukushima.
In the clean building, you can spend your time in a natural way, not only in the room but also in the public space, which is very comfortable and calm. The wild courtyard seen from the large window glass is also wonderful.
Plenty of hot water welcomes you in both the beautiful large public bath and the open-air bath.
Supper and breakfast served in a nice restaurant. Suppers are served one by one, but they are all carefully cooked and very delicious. I also recommend Kiso's local sake.
The employees are also very kind and the correspondence is wonderful.
Spring, summer, autumn and winter, it's an inn that you definitely want to visit in each season.

Although it is an inn in Kiso Town, it also supports day trip baths. A large signboard was set up near the tunnel along National Highway 19. When I went up the mountain road according to the signboard, I had to be careful because the road became narrower when I got close to the inn. The name "Koma no Yu" is said to have been derived from the fact that the wound was healed when the injured horse was dipped in the water that springs from nearby. The inn is a historical inn that received permission for hot springs in the 30th year of the Meiji era.
The hot spring had an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The indoor bath is a bathtub using Kiso cypress, and the source contains a lot of iron, so when pouring it into the bathtub, the source is filtered and used. It is said to be effective against cuts, chronic skin diseases, and high blood pressure. The open-air bath was a herbal bath that was a blend of traditional herbs. I had an exciting image, but that wasn't the case.
It was introduced that you can see Mt. Ontake from the inn. It was said that there was a place where you could see Mt. Mitake in one area of the parking lot, but I couldn't find Mt. Mitake until the end. I would be grateful if you could install a signboard that is a little easier to understand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite of more than a dozen hotels/ryokans/Airbnb’s in Japan. Our room on the third floor had an amazing view of the snowy mountain, and for dinner they served dishes that I hadn’t had before and loved, like a cold soba soup with whole wasabi leaves on top and a miso meat dish cooked on your table over a flame. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing someone might not like is that the floor beds are less cushioned than other ryokans that cater to westerners.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place. Their onsens are amazing, the outdoor onsen has a very nice garden setting for you to relax. Their dinner set is really something and incredibly good. There's not much food around the area anyway so do indulge in their food.
The staff were always very polite and helpful, especially since we are non-japanese speakers, and even drove to town to return my jacket which i left in the room after checking out. Amazing top quality service, absolutely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down one of the best lodging experiences I’ve had to date. After a long day of hiking we arrived to a warm welcome from the reception who gave us a tour of their facilities and got us settled into our rooms. The onsen was serene, beautiful, and completely restorative. The supper consisted of many courses of high quality Japanese dishes and we arrived to our rooms afterwards with the beds ready and heated blankets already warming them up. If you’re visiting this region, don’t miss this amazing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everyone was very welcoming, friendly yet professional and made the experience great. The onsen is perfect after a days walking and they provide everything you need including instructions at the front desk. The food is excellent, probably slightly westernised to accommodate the range of travellers (for example we weren't offered offal), but all guests were served the same and it gave us a feel for Japanese food. We really enjoyed it. I'd imagine they would find it difficult to provide for a vegetarian diet as we ate a lot of fish and meat. The room was comfortable and kept warm. Traditional style with modern facilities. The grounds look a little bit unkempt, and there are areas inside where a little work could improve the image, but it is clean.
We also went on a stargazing trip with them which was unexpected and enjoyable. The guide did very well at translating into English, although with a little bit of guesswork I was able to follow most of what he was saying to the Japanese in the group.
