★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a fine little branch, but be aware that they don't speak English, which is fine, but make sure you have your documents and reservation in order before you go. Car was waiting for us in perfect shape and ready to go.

I recommend you Toyota Rent-a-car. They’re much better than here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice people, although don't speak much english. The car we got was in perfect condition. A little stone hot the front glass and cracked it but they didn't ask of anything.

There was only one group in front of us first, but one of the elder staffs kept attending Japanese customers who came in after us and kept us waiting until we had to make a noise. Will be the first and the last time to use Nissan car rental. Times is a bit more ex but service is ten times better than Nissan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This shop will charge you ¥20000+¥50000=¥70000 for a scratch found as the photo shown; the staff claims you cannot be compensated, although you have paid for a noc insurance policy.
Their rationale is like this:
you don't aware when and where you have made such a "minor scratch" (the terms their staff used), so you won't report it to the police; as you haven't reported it to the police, you are not entitled to be covered by the insurance.
On the other hand, although it is a minor scratch, they need to have the car repaired (¥20000) and bring it out of service (¥50000), therefore it's you to solely bear the total cost.
The fact is, this scratch has been there before the rental, just the staff didn't mark it on the record sheet, and the client didn't aware its presence before he was being claimed and searched through his photo gallery for the evidence of defence.
Quite a strategy… hard to believe this happened in Japan.
By the way, you are reminded not to rely on the shop provided location map about gas stations nearby. The opening hours shown have been wrong for a year.
