D	Daisuke Kikuchi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長岡城の築城以前に統治拠点だった城。上杉氏の会津移封に伴い、堀氏一門の堀親良が入城するが出奔。堀直寄が坂戸城と兼務する形で統治した。蔵王堂城が信濃川による浸食を受けてることで、長岡城の築城が計画されるが、堀氏のお家騒動により中断。紆余曲折を経て、堀直寄によって長岡城が完成すると廃城となった。城跡は一部の堀と土塁が残る。堀直寄の立派な像が目立つ。 A castle that was a governing base before the construction of Nagaoka Castle.
