大将軍八神社の境内社。3柱の神さまを祀る。九州の古社宗像大社の三女神を中心に、猿田彦神と命婦神を左右に祀る。神社の掲示では宗像三女神は「芸事の守護神」としているが、この神さまは天照大神と素戔嗚命の誓いの所作「うけい」の際に生まれたので、誓約の神さまとしての属性が中心。「芸事」は神仏習合思想によって三女神のひとりの市杵島姫命が「水辺の神さま」として弁財天と習合し、弁財天が琵琶を抱えた像で表されることが多かったために市杵島姫命にも芸事の属性が移ったのだろう。猿田彦神が「導開の守護神」とされるのは天孫降臨の故事から。命婦神は稲荷神の御使の白狐とされるが、名前から「女性の守護神」ということになっているのだろう。
