生菓子、焼き菓子の扱いがあり、主に栗菓子推しです。
名物は 一口大の 見た目は干し柿に似せた形状で桂皮(ニッキ)の効いた生地に 中身は白餡、口にいれるとホロホロと 『柿の里』、シロップ漬けの栗 丸１つを 甘さ控えめの餡に パイ生地で包んだ『栗かくし』、 個人的にお手軽でおすすめできる 栗どら焼き があります。
後は かつて付近の笠松競馬場から、名馬として全国に名を上げた オグリキャップ に ちなんだお菓子で、毛並みの灰色に似せた色の餅の中に、栗と餡を包んだ 『おぐり大福』がオススメです。
時期的なものとして、春頃には苺大福、秋頃には 栗きんとん もあり、特に秋の栗菓子がでる頃、 秋の栗フェアー的な お得価格で栗きんとんや 栗おこわが安く買える日があります。このイベントは大抵、新聞の広告でしか分からないので、毎年 決まったこの日…と、いう事がないので この地域の方にとても優しい(笑)。
