道路から５分ほど歩くと到着します。８月は虫が多いので防虫スプレーの持参をお勧めします。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 推定樹齢400年、単幹(一本木)としては日本一というブナの木。太さなか高さかの何が日本一なのか、誰が認定したのか、等、イマイチ日本一の前提が分かりづらいが。
すっくと伸びる見事な木だが、世間一般の樹齢ウン百年な巨木が放つ、神々しさを通り越しての禍々しさみたいな物は、この木には感じなかった。普通に大きい木、それでダッツオールという感じ。
国道からの林道は幅狭目ながら舗装が行き届いている。看板無く場所は分かり辛いが、駐車スペースがあり、そこにドラクエのダンジョン入り口よろしく、二体の木彫りの熊が入り口に控えており、それを目安にするといい。本物の熊さんに出逢わないように祈るのみだが。。
