M	Masahiro Otsuka on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NHKとは関係ありませんが、かつてこの場所にはHelm Apartmentという外国人向けの高級アパートホテルがあったそうです。Helmさん一家はドイツからアメリカ経由で日本へ移住されて1860年台から横浜周辺に住まれていました。Helm Apartmentは昭和後期に取り壊されてしまいましたが、聞くところによるととても立派な建築物で、外国から来た商人たちが短期滞在するのに利用されたのだと想像します。ずーっと気になっていましたが、偶然にもHelmさん一家の方と知り合う機会があり直接教えてもらいました。この場所にくると当時の華やかな横浜の様子に思いを巡らせます。 This place is nothing related to NHK. But it is where Helm Apartment existed. It was a luxurious modern western style building at that time. Helm family migrated from Germany thru US to Japan in late 1860s. Since then they had lived in this area. It's building was torn down at end of Showa era. But as far as I hear from people who know about, it was a very gorgeous building. I wondered it for some time where it was. One day I became a friend to a member of Helm family. And I was told this place was where Helm Apartment had stood. When I come across this place, I wonder how Yokohama was like during that period. Although it has nothing to do with NHK, it seems that once there was a luxury apartment hotel for foreigners called Helm Apartment. The Helm family moved from Germany to Japan via the United States and lived around Yokohama in the 1860s. Helm Apartment was demolished in the latter half of the Showa era, but according to what I heard, I think that it was a wonderful building and was used by merchants from abroad for a short stay. I was worried for a long time, but I happened to have the opportunity to get to know the Helm family, and I was told directly.
