が、しかし。ローズの香水について、ピュアなローズ以外に甘い香りを感じたため「ローズというか甘い感じがしますね」と店員さんに言うと(説明書きには"甘すぎないローズ"と有)、あなたの嗅覚は理解しかねるといった憮然とした表情で「（笑）…。天然の香料を使っているんです。」と言われました。
え？はい。いやそういうことではなく、配合の中でローズ以外に甘い香りの成分があれば教えてほしかったのに、"甘い"という表現が受け入れられないらしく、再度「天然の香料ですので。（笑）」と言われました。
別にローズの香りそのものにケチをつけているわけではないんですが…。
そして結局、ラストノートに別の甘い要素はあるとのこと。それを聞きたかったんですが、察していただけないものか…。
香水のつけ方をレクチャー(といってもこちらは知らなかったわけではない)されるときも、「天然の香料ですので、こすらずにあっためて〜」と再三の説明。
何度言うんだろう…。天然の香料ってそんなに強調することでしょうか？
店員さんは私より年上の方でしたが、私の年齢や身なりから化学香料のローズしか使ったことがないだろうと勝手に判断されたのだとしたら、腹立たしい限りです。接客とはマニュアル第一でなくお客の感じたことを否定せずに寄り添うことではないでしょうか。
初ニールズヤード、もう一人の店員さんは丁寧で嫌味のない接客だっただけに、とても残念でした。欲しい商品をそちらの方から買って帰りました。
初めての人は新宿伊勢丹などの方が質問にも丁寧に返していただけると思います。コスメの接客にありがちですが、素人が率直な質問をすると私のような扱いを受けます。

The clerk was older than me, but as long as I was determined to have used only the chemical fragrance rose from my age and appearance, it would be frustrating. Waiting for customers is not a manual, but is a close approach without denying what the customer feels.
The first Neil's Yard, the other clerk, was very sorry because he was a polite and tasteless customer. I bought the item I wanted from there and went home.
