We walk all the way from Amanohashidate station. The views are amazing. And the temple worth all the way up. You can use a cable car in the middle of the way if you want.

Narianji Temple : Nariaiji Temple is located on the north-west of Amano Hashidate up on the hill side of Mt. Nariai approximately at a point of 569 meters above the sea level. The temple is known as 28th point of sacred pilgrimage of 33 temples of ancient west-side countries in Japan holding Kannon Statues. the temple belongs to Shingon sect of Buddhism established in 704. Before the temple was once affected by severe landslide the main hall of the temple was located on a point with even higher elevation than the current position. The important cultural heritage of kannon statue is preserved in its main hall. Visiting this temple is believed to make your wish come true. There is a striking feature of five-story pagoda in its pricincts. This structure is built in 1998 with construction style of Kamakura period. There is a path along the side of the mountain next to the pagoda to an abservation point where you can get a wide panoramic view of Amano Hashidate. You also have an option to reach even higher elevation as you go along the road next to the entrance of the temple. It is about 5 minutes drive by a car approximately 2 km in distance. From this point you get to see the entire view of Miyazu Bay as well as Amano Hashidate. On a clear sunny day you can see as far as the sight of Echizen Coast in the far north-east of this location. There is a large structure of looped frame on the side of the mountain. This is a loop for Kawaranage. It is like a sacred frisbee that you make your wish before throwing them by aiming at the central point of the loop. It is believed that your wish will come true if you make it through the loop. Access to this area by public transportation is by a bus departs from Amano Hashidate Station. there is a service called Tango Kairiku Bus helps you to reach to the point of its Sanmon Gate.
