2022.4.6 I went after visiting Nariaiji Temple in Saigoku. I saw several groups, but the view cafe was closed on weekdays (it seems to be open on Saturdays and Sundays). The weather was fine, but I was doing it, and sometimes the wind blew and smoke came out, but I could see Mt. Aoba, where Matsuodera Temple in Saigoku is located.

There is always a reward for the first visit in the morning. Unfortunately it was a light rain, but I was able to come by car, so I climbed a steep slope from the Nariaiji parking lot to the observatory. If it was sunny, I could imagine that it would be one of the best scenery in Japan, and while I was looking at it for a while, the wind blew and Amanohashidate was visible beyond the thin clouds. I think he taught me to try what I should do without giving up on anything. Thank you. One point, if you are visiting during the day, please note that it is a concrete road that is difficult to pass on a steep slope.

You can drive to the top. However, there is a considerable steep slope and a step of speed control, so it is better to avoid a car that is dropping in height. Near the observatory, there is a small attraction where you can throw a pottery plate into a ring and your wish will come true ?➰

On January 23, I visited during a considerable amount of snow. An adult of 500 yen is required to enter the mountain. Admission fees for temples and shrines are also included. In addition, studless tires are indispensable this season. Without it, you can't reach the observatory. The view was spectacular as shown in the photo.

Found this group of temples after getting lost on the way to Kasamatsu park but this offered a comparable view of Amanohashidate at an even higher elevation. Caught some late sakura in full bloom too.

Great view of Amanohashidate and Miyazu city and beyond. Perfect for awesome pictures. Spacious and relatively quiet place. There is a lovely cafe with the view. I recommend this place as a combined visit to the temple. You have to drive (or take a bus) a narrow winding mountain road for about 20-30 min to get there.

Located at 500m, even above the mountainside pilgrimage Temple Nariaiji , this overlook has, hands down, the most expansive views of the area. This area sits above both Amanohashidate Viewland and Kasamatsu Park, however it is located only by car, bus, or on foot. The 3-star rating is for the inconvenience of getting here and the fact that, though the views are more expansive than the other overlook areas, the scenery is not that much different. You can see distant mountains that you cannot otherwise see, which could make for some great photos if there happened to be snow on the peaks, but it depends on how fastidious you like to get about your sightseeing experiences. The easiest way to access this area without a car would be to take the cable car up to Kasamatsu Park, and then ride the mountain bus that is always shuttling back and forth between Kasamatsu Park and Nariaiji Temple. From there adventurous visitors may walk the rest of the way,, but there is also another bus that makes infrequent trips to the top. It's not exactly convenient, and certainly best done with a car. Even if you don't make it to this spot, visiting Nariaiji Temple a little ways below is certainly worth the effort. There is also a cafe up top at this overlook for those who need an energy boost after walking to the top (I have met people who have walked to this location all the way from Amanohashidate Station, could be a fun hiking trip with multiple cultural stops along the way).
