I came to see Nanaki in my family. It's a huge hike for elementary school children, which is about 2 kilometers uphill from the mountain entrance to Nanadaki. Arrive in about an hour (hello) there is a wonderful waterfall. I think that it is better to prepare a water bottle etc. when coming hot from now on, when a child is taken. There is a free parking lot for 4 to 5 cars in front of the climbing gate.

I went to see only Nanataki.
Climb from the parking lot on a gentle slope.
You can go to the waterfall like a hike.
You can go down to the bottom and go to the side of the waterfall, but I think that some shoes are good.

I saw it powerful after a long time. If you have a spirit with your boots, you can go to the basin. It's a gentle climb for about an hour from the Nanataki trailhead, so you can feel free to come.

The Iwateyama Nanataki Course is a course where you can fully enjoy nature in the spring, summer, autumn and winter. As expected, climbing Mt. Iwate on this route in the midwinter is extremely dangerous, but I go to see it every year between the great cold and the beginning of spring, aiming for the Nanataki ice bomb! This period seems to be the coldest period in the average year ... It is said that the ice bomb will be completed.
I can't wait for ice and spring again this year. To start, we will rent a parking lot at the Forest Nature Learning Center. Please note that the prefectural forest parking lot is prohibited from entering during the snowy season. Almost no snow has been removed, so SUVs may get stuck ... Walk from the parking lot to the eastern store, set snowshoes at the eastern store, and take the clockwise forest road course to the Nanataki trailhead. Once you reach the Nanataki trailhead, all you have to do is follow the trace. There are no dangerous spots along the way, but we recommend a sunny day! The road is divided into a mountain trail and a forest road, but you will be connected to the destination, so don't worry, let's proceed slowly. After arriving at Nanataki, put your luggage backpack on top and get off while paying attention to the steep snow stairs!

My photo is difficult to understand because it doesn't show the object, but when I look at it directly, it's very big and powerful, it's blue and beautiful, and it's worth climbing the mountain road.
The road is a forest road, but at least during the winter, vehicles are not allowed to pass, so park your car at the Forest Fureai Learning Center and walk on a snowy road with an altitude difference of 300m and a round trip of about 6km. I think it is better to plan for a round trip of 2 hours or more.
At the beginning of February when I went, the snowy road was tight with the footsteps of many people, it was very easy to walk, and I felt that snowshoes etc. were unnecessary. (Of course, please note that it will change depending on the snow conditions up to the day before)
There is a steep slope in front of the waterfall, but the volunteers are making snow stairs, and I am very grateful for that, and I am struck by the effort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's about a 2km hike to Nanataki Falls from the trailhead at Kenminnomori. It's a great little hike in the warmer months, and also great fun during the winter when the waterfall is frozen. I went yesterday, and the fall colors were breathtaking!
(Of course I recommend going on past Nanataki Falls and hiking all the way up to the summit of Mt. Iwate...)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nanataki is a waterfall on the way to Mt Iwate. It freezes in winter turning it into a wonderful destination. It's only about 2.5 km from the road. You might need snow shoes to get there but you can rent them at the visitor center at the parking area.
