★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 標高約200メートルの丘陵性台地東斜面に造られた、一辺37メートルの規模を有する方墳です。墳丘は約5メートルで前庭部は一部削られています。石室の開自部は南側にあり、がなり以前に関けられたようです。そのため副葬されていた遺物は一切わかりません。石室は、安山岩の精巧なきり石切組積による、横穴式の両袖型石室で羨門と玄門を備えています。羨道は、長さ3.1メートル（左）、3.14メートル（右）、幅は1.31メートルです。玄室の長さは、4.16メートル（左）、4.28メートル（右）、幅は1.76メートル（中央部）で、石室全体は7.67メートルあります。上野三碑の一つ「山上碑」（高崎市山名町）の碑文には、新川臣と大児臣の婚姻関係や系譜が記されています。山上碑、辛巳歳に建てられており、辛巳歳は681年に考えられていることから、中塚古墳は新川臣の墳墓と推定されています。
It is a burial mound with a side of 37 meters built on the eastern slope of a hilly plateau at an altitude of about 200 meters. The mound is about 5 meters long and the front yard has been partially removed. The opening part of Ishimuro is on the south side, and it seems that he was involved before. Therefore, I do not know any of the relics that were buried. The stone chamber is a double-sleeve stone chamber with a horizontal hole made by the elaborate cut stone masonry of andesite, and has an envy gate and a gate. The entourage is 3.1 meters long (left), 3.14 meters (right) and 1.31 meters wide. The length of the chamber is 4.16 meters (left), 4.28 meters (right), the width is 1.76 meters (central part), and the entire stone chamber is 7.67 meters. The inscription of "Yamanoue Stele" (Yamanamachi, Takasaki City), one of the three Ueno monuments, describes the marital relationship and genealogy of Omi Shinkawa and Omi Omi. The Nakastuka Burial Mound is presumed to be the tomb of Shinkawa Omi, as it was built on the Yamanoue monument, Yin Metal Snake, and was thought to be in 681.
