★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 清正は幼名を虎之助といい、永禄五年（一五六二）この地に生まれたといわれる。天生（一五七三～）のはじめ秀吉に仕え、数々の武功をたてた。とくに賤ヶ岳の七本槍は有名である。のちに肥後国（熊本県）五十四万石の領主となった。慶長十五年（一六一0）名古屋城築城の時、自分の誕生地に城の余材をもって妙行寺を再建したと伝えられる。寺内には、秦鼎の撰文「清正旧里之碑」がある。名古屋市教育委員会・凛々しい清正公の銅像もあります。清正ファンなら是非訪れてみてください。

Served Hideyoshi at the beginning of Tenno (1.75.73), and created numerous martial arts. In particular, Shichigatake's Seven Bonito is famous. He later became the lord of the Higo Country (Kumamoto Prefecture) of fifty-four thousand stones. It is said that at the time of Nagoya Castle Tsukiji (Keicho 15) (1610), it was said that he had rebuilt Myougyo-ji with the excess materials of the castle at his birth place.
