★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 神名帳の伊豆國那賀郡の項に記載のある仲神社、仲大歳神社の論社の一社。
西伊豆の松崎港から那賀川沿いに下田のほうへ向かう途中に鎮座。
・
社名の「仲」は古代の郡名の「那賀」と通じるもので間違いないだろう。
那賀という地名は阿波國の那賀郡が由来ともいわれていて、阿波の氏族が黒潮に乗って伊豆半島の西伊豆のこの地に辿り着いた痕跡といえるのだろう。
阿波からの人の動きの痕跡を神社でみると、
伊豆では沼津市の大朝神社（大麻比古神社から？）、神津島の阿波命神社などが見える。

そのほか、那賀や那珂の郡名は武蔵、石見、讃岐、筑前、日向にもある。これら全てが阿波氏族の痕跡かどうかははっきりとしないが、少なくとも伊豆から常陸にかけては古代の阿波からの人の流れの痕跡なのだろう。
当社は小さな集落の中心のような場所にあって、何やら土蔵のような社殿。
御祭神は事代主命、菅原道真。
