★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新第三紀の頃の地層で、陽がよく当たるハケ(崖の古い呼び方)なので「ようばけ」と言うそうです。この展望台付近からはそのようばけがよく見えます。
It is said to be called "Yobake" because it is a stratum around the Neogene and is often exposed to the sun (an old name for a cliff). You can see such a yobake from the vicinity of this observatory.
