★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 徳川家臣 大久保家発祥の寺で、室町初期の七百年の伝統があるそうです。平成２９年６月に新本堂の落慶 外観は寺に見えませんが、中は見事な本堂です。寺の住職さんがいたら仏さん拝ませてもらうと良いですよ。それと、大太鼓デカいのがありますよ。六尺だそうです。岡崎でも一番でかいんじゃないかな？

でも、中に入るとお寺の本堂ですね。迫力が違います。
法華宗陣門流
特に大きな太鼓、大黒天神、子安鬼子母尊神、日蓮大聖人御真骨がすごく印象に残りました。
さて、この妙国寺は、家康公、秀忠公、家光公の三代に仕え「三河物語」を綴ったことで有名な大久保彦左衛門など、幕末まで続いた大久保一族ゆかりのお寺として知られています。
境内には大久保家の祖宇都宮泰藤の墓塔や大久保家の遠祖供養塔立っています。
この宇都宮とは誰ぞやというと大久保氏の祖で上和田城の城主だそうです。
新田義貞に仕えていたが、義貞が戦死しだ後、この和田の辺りに移り住んだそうです。
そして郷士となりこの一帯を統率し、上和田城の城主となったといわれています。
これが、大久保氏の始まりであり、宇都宮泰藤が大久保氏の祖というわけです。
そしてすぐ近くにある犬頭神社、犬尾神社に上和田城城主宇都宮泰藤としての犬と大蛇の有名な伝説が残されています。

In the precincts, the tomb tower of Taito Utsunomiya, the founder of the Okubo family, and the memorial tower of the ancestors of the Okubo family stand.
Who is this Utsunomiya? It is said that he is the ancestor of Mr. Okubo and the owner of Kamiwada Castle.
He served Nitta Yoshisada, but after Yoshisada died in the war, he moved to this area around Wada.
It is said that he became a villager, led this area, and became the lord of Kamiwada Castle.
This is the beginning of Mr. Okubo, and Taito Utsunomiya is the ancestor of Mr. Okubo.
And at the nearby Inuo Shrine and Inuo Shrine, the famous legend of dogs and snakes as the lord of Utsunomiya Taito is left.
