★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 消防署にしては人がいつもいないな…と、思ったので調べてみました。
武蔵野市消防団は、本部（20名）と10個分団（各24名）、総勢260名からなり、市内全域を受け持ち区域として日夜活動を行っています。
消防団員は「特別職の非常勤公務員」という身分であり、普段はそれぞれが生業を持っていますが、ひとたび市内で災害が発生すると仕事中でも出動し、消防署やその他の関係機関と一致団結して被害の軽減・防止のため、最前線で活動を行います。
その活動内容は、火災をはじめとする各種の災害現場における活動はもちろんのこと、各種の訓練や地域で行われる様々な行事での警戒業務、市民の皆さんへの防火・防災意識の啓発活動など多岐にわたり、地域に密着した「防災のエキスパート」としておおいに活躍をしています。
