創建は飛鳥時代と伝承されるが、鎌倉時代に鎌倉市の鶴岡八幡宮の八幡神を勧進して整備した頃が現在の名称になった起源と思われる。
現在の社殿は、太平洋戦争時の空襲で焼失後の再建建築。
文化財としては戦国期の池田輝政書状なども数点残っている。

It is said that it was founded in the Asuka period, but it seems that the origin of the name came from the time when the Hachiman god of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu in Kamakura city was promoted and maintained in the Kamakura period.

As cultural assets, there are still several documents such as Terumasa Ikeda's letter from the Warring States period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 初めて訪れました。第一、第二と駐車スペースがたくさんありました。あまり木々に覆われていなくて、開放的な神社でした。なかなかカラフルな御朱印をいただきました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 今から約150年前に巻き起こった『ええじゃないか』のきっかけとされるお宮さまにお詣りしました。冬空の寒い日にも関わらず参拝客もおられ、地元の方々からの篤い信仰を拝見させて頂きました。細かい修繕もされています。摂社末社も多く、境内も広いお宮さまです。御朱印は300円とお値打ちで、且つ可愛らしいので、是非ともお受け下さい。ご本殿西隣の御霊社では、特に強いお力を感じさせて頂きました。槇の木の大木も必見です。ありがっ様です。
