残念ながら藤沢市教育委員会の怠慢により、城址は保護されず旧状を留めていない。完全に児童公園化しているが、片方は断崖に成っていて地形的に要害性の高さは伺うことが出来る。
平良文公が東郷平八郎元帥の祖先に当たる為、東郷平八郎元帥の甥の東郷吉太郎海軍中将が揮毫した石碑も建っている。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石碑や説明板はありますが遺構が無いのか残念です。別名、高谷砦で、玉縄城の砦として築かれたとされます。村岡城址として整備されていて、遊具やグラウンドがあります。地形的に見ると周辺より少し高い台地に位置しています。ちなみに村岡城の碑以外にも他の碑もあります。

It is maintained as the site of Muraoka Castle, and has playsets and grounds. Topographically, it is located on a plateau slightly higher than the surrounding area.
