★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 白石城下町の堀割跡です。白石城の堀割は明治時代に道路の脇にはつけかえられていて城下時代の面影はあまりありません。少し前までは、堀割も見えないようになっていたのですが、最近のブームで少しずつ整備されて見せるようになってきています。堀割は城の防御と町の防火を兼ねていたので江戸時代はもっと幅広い堀だったようです。 この堀割は白石城南面の守りの堀割で、看板あたりは大手筋になります。白石城に登城する場合の正式な道筋になります。
It is a moat split in Shiroishi Castle Town. The Horiwari of Shiroishi Castle was replaced by the side of the road in the Meiji era, and there is not much of the castle era. Until a while ago, we couldn't even see Horiwari, but due to the recent boom, it has been gradually being prepared and shown. Horiwari used to protect the castle and fire in the town, so it seems that it was a wider moat in the Edo period. This moat is a moat for protection on the south side of Shiroishi Castle, and the area around the signboard is a major line. This is the official route for climbing Shiroishi Castle.
