It is a stone step with a good atmosphere. About 274 stairs counting from the front of the gate. It is difficult to match the stride of the climb than the climb.

Sendai City registered cultural property. Dainenji is a Zen temple of the Obaku sect that was opened in Mogasaki in 1697 by Date Tsunamura, the fourth feudal lord of the Sendai domain, inviting Tetsugyu Kazuhisa. Many temples are lined up around the Buddhist temple, and it was one of the largest temples in the city as the gate that governs the mausoleum after Tsunamura, but it was demolished after the Meiji Restoration, and this gate is now the only architectural remains. .. The Dainenji Somon is a gate with a unique appearance in the middle of the Edo period from the decoration technique, and it is a valuable remains as an Obaku sect architecture, and was discovered when it was dismantled and repaired in 1985. According to the building tags of 1897 (Meiji 38) and 1925 (Taisho 14), it is believed that the building was built in the early Kyoho period of Date Yoshimura, the fifth feudal lord. It is a gabled book tile roof, and it is in the form of Koraimon with a roof on the back pillar, and pillars are built on both sides of the pillar to hang the roof. It has a complex appearance with a total of five roofs. The "Higashi-Mulberry Cave" written by Zen Master Kozando-Hai is hung. When dismantling and repairing was carried out in 1985, Makara was restored at both ends of the roof ridge, following the Somon of Manpukuji Temple in Motoyama.

Dainenji was founded by Date Tsunamura, the fourth lord of the Sendai clan, who was dedicated to the Obaku sect. It is said that Tsunamura himself held the hoe and opened the mountains and worked hard to found the building. Did. Formerly located near the summit of Mogasaki (now Dainen Terayama) (after climbing the existing stone steps), it was about 20 towers opened from Genroku to Kanei, Masanori, and Kyoho. It is said that he has prospered. Both of them were abolished after the Meiji Restoration, and they have become abandoned temples. The only building where you can find out about the existing times is the Somon.

A little known historic spot
A little known historic spot When I was a kid, I often had a relative's old child and each other's mother on this long cobblestone staircase. Even an adult climbed a delicate 1.5 steps to go up one step and had a picnic in the wildflower garden in the back. After climbing the cobblestone stairs, there is a park on your right where you can take a short break, and there is a covered bench. If the weather is nice, the ferry could look like a bean grain in the sea. After I became an adult, I didn't go to Yasoen Gardens, but I relaxed for a while with the sandwiches and coffee I bought at the convenience store. If the cobblestone stairs are tough, even if you ride a bicycle up the residential area next to it, you will reach the same park or wildflower garden, so do that!

Due to corona, I've been going out for a walk recently. The fresh green is dazzling. The gate is also excellent. It's quite difficult to climb the stone steps, but the exhilarating feeling when you finish the climb is exceptional.
