房総の山々まで望む事ができた景勝地だったようだ。
今は全く見ることが出来ない。
明治38年 1905年には
割烹旅館と下宿機能を併せ持った海水館が建った。
島崎藤村を始め多くの作家 芸術家が宿に泊まり、
活動していた記録もある。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治末期に建てられた割烹旅館の海水館は当時の多くの文化人に好まれて利用されていたそうです。晴れた日には房総半島を見渡せる景観が見事だったとか。中でも島崎藤村はこの地で「春」という小説を書き上げるぐらい逗留したようです。
