T	Trip.com Member on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Minshuku Kuwataniya is a lovely little place only minutes from Takayama station. We found the dining close by a little lacking. We could almost hear every word. I thought the hotel as a whole was incredibly clean. I would recommend to have a breakfast in a restaurant in the morning market.

Most disappointing was when we had to pay extra charges for a child upon checking out, despite clearly indicating "3 person / 2 adults with 1 child in one room" when we made prior booking. For the rates they charge, I think there are better options elsewhere. Not worth the $$ spent.

The onsen is very good and worth the tax. The room was clean, as we're the bathrooms. Great location for exploring takayama.

The room had an information booklet with no English at all. There is no lift and all the rooms are up either one or two flights of stairs. The location is good. The Sun laundromat is very convenient. We enjoyed the nearby local sites. Prices were very high. Good food and service at Hida Yakima from the Hida Beefmeister. Also at Echiba
T	Tiffany Ooi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It has a public bathroom, spring water pool and basin but no need worry too much because most of the times there will be no one there. However, if you feel uncomfortable, then better not to choose it. (I'm serious). It has a television inside the room which is the part which satisfied me the most xD there are so many channels which are very interesting indeed. The bed is warm and comfortable. Dipping my legs into the spring water is really a good and nice experience.
P	Phillip Brazel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I give this hotel a 5 star rating for friendliness, location but it is probably a 2.5 to 3 star hotel. Not much English spoken but very manageable. If you are looking for a more modern hotel with those sort of conveniences then this probable won't suit. If you don't mind an older hotel but with very friendly staff with great location then this would suit well.
T	Trip.com Member on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family loved Minshuku Kuwantaniya; the owner is very dedicated and gave us excellent service during our stay. Our host was most willing to organise this early breakfast for us. The entrance door is only 6ft tall but the room has a normal ceiling. Rooms were clean and the over all area was very homely. I would definitely recommend staying here when in takayama and will definitely be back.
