My Hakuba-no-buta, a local brand, is thicker than the usual cutlet but was fried to a perfect crisp. On the more expensive side, but still a fantastic meal.

We also ordered the tonkatsu sandwich to try and it was delicious. You can also get free cabbage, rice and miso soup refills as well. High recommended and not that busy since it is on the 7th floor of Tokyu Department Store.

Quality tonkatsu for reasonable prices and lots of choices on the menu to suit everyone. Hidden on the seventh floor of a department store near the Nagano train station, quiet for an early dinner but gets hit by the local lunch time rush. I’d recommend the katsu don as the best of what we tried but it was all pretty good. And go the medium size beer, it’s worth it for the extra ¥
