★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We walked in here by sheer chance looking for a small bite, and it fit the bill perfectly. I had an opportunity to eat something I've never had before, basashi. It was an interesting flavor and texture, similar to beef tartare. The Shabu Shabu salad was excellent, with a wonderful, light peanut dressing. The sashimi platter fresh, and the wasabi was ground fresh in front of us. Definitely recommend going here, both for a large group, as well as a couple of few friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid at all cost. There are better places in the neighbourhood.
1. They charge a Y500 fee just to eat. It is masked as a mandatory appetizer. What we received was a small bowl of soft tofu. Given the numerous choices in this neighbourhood, why put yourself at a competitive disadvantage by charging this fee?
2. Slow service, if any. It was not a busy evening when we went, but our waitress was hard to find. We ordered appetizers first and told her we needed a few extra minutes to order our entrees. We had to find another waitstaff to track her down so she could take our order. After half an hour of waiting, we inquired about our entrees. She sent another waitperson to tell us she forgot to put our order in but wanted to know if we still wanted it because it would be another half an hour wait. ??♀️
3. Suggest to not bother with this place at all. Two doors down is a stand-up sushi place that was phenomenal! Half a block away is the highly revised Ramen Restaurant. Go to either instead. Actually, go anywhere but Mihachi. We ended up spending $50 on two appetizers, two drinks and 5 skewers of chicken.
Not worth the money or aggravation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the sangria, it was very good. Then ordered some beef bites. And ordered the big hotpot. The beef was the best beef I've ever had. Now I think I will become vegetarian because I can't find beef that good in Canada! The waiters are very friendly, one of them spoke English. They do have a English menu and take Visa. Oh, the hotpot soup is also very delicious!
A bit expensive, but I think it's worth it! Good for two people.
