★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天上寺のご本尊である釈迦の母・摩耶夫人の尊像を安置するお堂。1976年の放火(とんでもない罰当たりな賽銭泥棒による)で摩耶夫人尊像も焼失し、その後、新しく造られた。ちなみに、焼失した尊像は、空海が唐から持ち帰り、天上寺に奉安したとされるもので、梁の武帝自刻の像だったので、放火犯はとんでもない文化破壊者である。摩耶夫人堂は、2002年再建され、摩耶夫人尊像も金堂から遷座された。
 A temple where the statue of Mrs. Maya, the mother of Buddha, who is the principal image of Tenjoji, is enshrined. The statue of Mrs. Maya was also destroyed by arson in 1976 (by a ridiculously punishing saisen thief), after which it was newly built. By the way, the burnt down statue is said to have been brought back from Tang by Kukai and enshrined at Tenjoji Temple, and since it was a statue of the Emperor Wu of Liang, the arsonist is a terrible cultural destroyer.
