★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was named Kaizu Castle, and famous for its tactical importance in the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima. But the castle was rebuilt many times, and the current one was rebuilt in 2004. The old castle's defensive structure was rebuilt, although incomplete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matsushiro Castle has beautiful colors in the fall. The main gate is well preserved and eye catching. The grounds are small but quaint and the bridge to the castle is very pretty.
