★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 観られる遺構は少ないですが、しっかりと残ってます。
大部分は太陽光発電の施設になってしまってます!残念ですが、時代ですかね?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北側のべんしょう山という土塁と用水が流れる堀跡が砦の跡であることを教えてくれます。郭内は周囲から若干、掘り下げており、土塁を北側、西側に囲っていたようです。
南側は堀跡が残っていましたが、太陽光発電の工事の為、確認ができなくなっています。砦の西側は小字で馬場(バンバ)と呼んでおり、砦に関係する地名と思われます。
砦としては小規模で、北側に台地があるなど防御に不向きな面がありますが、在地の武士の居館と見る向きと東側にある後閑城の監視との目的とする向きもありますが、砦からは城跡を見ることができないことから監視としては不適当の面があります。
後閑城は依田氏、後閑氏など城主の交代や滝川一益の家臣の津田氏に攻め落とされた話からも拠点としての役割があったようですから、決して平穏な場ではなかったことがうかがえます。
