近くに、鬼が親王に討たれた場所に、鬼を鎮めた鬼神塚がある。
12月に鬼祭り。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 斎宮神社の御祭神は、開化天皇皇子で丹波道主命の父である日子坐王命、開化天皇皇子で丹波竹野別の祖・建豊波豆羅和氣命、そして竹野媛命の3柱。
竹野神社の創始は開化天皇の妃・竹野媛が天照大御神を祀るために建てた御社、とのこと。つまり創始者とその係累を祀ったもの。
こちらの本殿は竹野神社本殿が装飾が控えめで荘厳な雰囲気であったのに対して、華やかな彫刻で飾られている。
竹野神社本殿・中門とともに京都府の登録文化財に指定されている。

Takano Shrine was founded by Emperor Kaika's princess, Hime Takeno, to worship Amaterasu Omikami. In other words, it enshrines the founder and his staff.
While the main shrine of Takeno Shrine had a modest and solemn atmosphere, it is decorated with gorgeous sculptures.
It is designated as a registered cultural property of Kyoto Prefecture along with the main shrine and central gate of Takeno Shrine.
