I made a trip from Shinagawa just to go to this store, but the staff’s English was so bad that I just didn’t feel comfortable spending $800+ on a knife.
The knives also seemed expensive compared to same/similar Matsumoto products imported to the US. I would have liked to understood why I got this impression. Next time I will go with a Japanese friend (and probably more money in my pocket)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the world’s best knives no doubt. However prices in store are higher than online and they would not offer the same rates their dealers sell for online so you would be better off buying online only. I came in ready to buy but left with plans to buy online instead. Still worth a visit to see these gems in person and to get a feel for which knife is best for you. Staff speaks very minimal English.
