創建は社伝によれば江戸時代中期と云われています。
巨木が多くまるで隠されているように表からは見えません。
巨木に囲まれると圧倒され静かで神聖な雰囲気がします。
グーグルマップの案内だと表の林で終わってしまうので、裏に回り当たりをつけて農道を走る形になります。
境内の木々は佐倉市の保存樹指定されてます。
