You can see the territory of the castle in Kanto. When you go out, you should aim for the Makabe Gymnasium. The eastern two-thirds of the castle ruins are national historic sites. You can see the view of the Tsukuba mountain range from the ruins of the castle and tour the city of Makabe. Since the gymnasium and the parking lot are shared, it is difficult to park at the time of the event, and a large-scale excavation survey is currently being conducted in the Nakagusuku area, so I look forward to future maintenance.

I'm still excavating, but I want to go again. The view is nice and comfortable, probably because of the flat land in the countryside. Mr. Makabe's flag, the wild boar, is cute.

Beautiful restored earthworks There is an old earthwork at Kashima Shrine in the east of the main enclosure. Located to the east of the ruins of Makabe Station, it is a continuous castle built on a plateau at the western foot of Mt. Ashio in the Kaba mountain range. It is also said that the ancient Makabe-gun family existed, and it was located in the center of Makabe-gun. In addition to the Ninomaru that concentrically surrounds the central main enclosure, there are three and four enclosures on the east side of the Ninomaru, and Kashima Shrine is enshrined at the southeastern end of the outer enclosure. The territory remains good east of Honmaru, but the area west of Ninomaru is almost urbanized and disappears. Originally, the Makabecho Furushiro district corresponds to the western half of the castle area. The place name of Otemae remains in the west of the old castle district, and it is said that the area around the area was a major place. The former Makabe-cho Gymnasium is located at the site of Honmaru, and the remains of the gymnasium are piled up at the site of Ninomaru, so the central part is not well preserved.

Tsukuba, and is located at a slightly higher altitude than the flat land facing the Sakura River. The quadruple moat and earthworks are left in good condition, the main enclosure and the Ninomaru are one step higher, and the earthworks that seem to be a turret still exist in the corners of the Ninomaru.

"Ibaraki's strongest Yankee hideout." In Hitachi during the Warring States period, even when Hideyoshi Hashiba became the successor to Nobunaga Oda, small and medium-sized lords were still assigned to the group, and the unification of the country was delayed. Mr. Ashikaga Yoshiuji of Furukawa, Mr. Yuki of Yuki, Mr. Mizutani of Shimodate, Mr. Oda of Tsukuba, Mr. Ohsui of Fuchu, Mr. Kashima of Kashima, Mr. Edo of Mito, and Mr. Satake of Ota. Mr. Makabe, who ruled Makabe, also existed in the face of the battle against the nationals by the lords of each city. Mr. Makabe is a prestigious family who follows the tradition of the Hitachi Heike family, and has ruled this land for about 400 years since he became a gokenin during the Kamakura period. Makabe Castle was the home of Mr. Makabe, and during the Warring States period it was a large-scale castle surrounded by moats and earthworks. It is now a national historic site, and excavation and restoration work is being carried out, but it looks like a large-scale reclaimed land, and I am looking forward to the future. By the way, speaking of Mr. Makabe, there was Mr. Makabe, who had the nickname of "Oni Makabe" during the Warring States period. He wielded an original armor called "Kanabo", which was made by driving innumerable nails into a thick oak tree stick, and he was scared of neighboring powerful tribes such as Mr. Edo and Mr. Oda. However, that weapon is what we now call a "nail bat"! so. The Ibaraki Yankee's strongest legend (is there such a thing?) Originated from the trunk! Such a strong Yankee trunk participates in many battles mainly with the help of Mr. Satake. However, when Mr. Fuchu Otsu, who is the head of the Makabe family, was attacked by Mr. Mito Edo with the support of Mr. Satake, the trunk immediately rushed to Mr. Otsu's support and bladed against Mr. Satake without hesitation. (Is it a nail?) (It seems that he was also negotiating peace with Mr. Satake at the same time.) The owner of such a family-minded and passionate heart is exactly the current "Mild Yankee"! That's right. As you may have noticed, Onimakabe is the source of the mentality of Ibaraki people! Unfortunately, Mr. Makabe's son, Mr. Fusami, followed Mr. Satake's transfer to Akita, and after that he became a famous family of the Dewa Akita feudal lord. However, he seems to have stayed here until the end. I can't help but feel that there was a local LOVE yankee soul around here as well (I don't believe it's just because of old age!).

Perhaps the excavation has been completed, it is in good condition like Oda Castle. You can feel the history because he explained various remains in the guide text at the point. There is also a concrete part, so it's easy to walk, and it's a good castle ruin for a walk.
