Kumano Shrine - Ayabe

Kumano Shrine is a shrine that sits in the innermost part of a narrow valley village along National Route 27, Kurotani-cho, Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture. The shrine is located in the back of the Kuroya Washi workshop, and the village seems to be taking good care of it, and the moss is neat and beautiful. Kurotani-cho is famous as a production center of Kurotani Japanese paper (precious pure handmade Japanese paper that keeps the old law), and if you make a reservation, you can experience making Japanese paper. The houses lined up along the Kuroya River, which runs through the center of the village, have a bridge that straddles the Kuroya River for the entrance and exit of the house site and roads, and a crane is provided so that the bridge can be moved when the river rises.
