★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 散策道は草刈りされ、順路の表示もありあるきやすい。
ただ、上に登っても木が高くて見晴らしは
あまり良くない。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 15世紀、南北朝時代は天下を二分する動乱期でした。ここ因幡の守護職はこの地に置かれました。お隣の但馬の守護職山名氏と同族でありながら争いを始めます。
文正元年(1466年)因幡の守護職山名勝豊は｢天神山城」を築き上げました。国の守りを固めるため三重の櫓の天守閣やしっかりとした城下町をこしらえました。
この間様々な下剋上の争いを経て107年が経過し、天正元年(1573年)山名豊国はこの城を廃止し、久松山鳥取城へ移りました。
［鳥取城は天文14年(1545年)但馬の本家との争いの渦中、天神山城の｢出城」として築かれていて、ここ天神山城から久松山山頂が見えていた］
豊臣秀吉による鳥取城攻めは9年後に迫ります。

During this period, 107 years have passed after various battles over Gekokujo, and in 1573, Toyokuni Yamana abolished this castle and moved to Tottori Castle, Kyushosan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 中学生のとき訪れた。当時、城跡に隣接しているのは農業高校だったが、そこに一言断ってから登った。といっても古墳のような丘なのですぐ登れた。実際、古代の古墳を利用したそうである。遺構などはよく分からなかった。
I visited when I was in junior high school. At that time, the agricultural high school was adjacent to the ruins of the castle, but I refused a word before climbing. However, it was a hill like an old burial mound, so I could climb it immediately. In fact, it seems that it used an ancient burial mound. I didn't really understand the remains.

自分自身の感想ですが、今残されている遺構部分は小さいながら、ほぼ垂直な断崖に囲まれ割と堅固な城に思われました。また、東屋からの湖山池の景色もよく湖山池八景（夕日の部）にも選ばれてるほどです。（ここだけでは物足りず直後に行った防己お嬢の看板で知りました））ホント、田中さんがすべて語りつくしててほかに書くことが思いつきません。

遺構は井戸や櫓跡等が残っている。
東屋からは湖山池を見ることができる。
