★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大同年間(806-810)に弘法大師空海が創建したと伝えられる。源義経を追って奥州へ進む途中の静御前はこの地で義経の訃報を聞き、ここ光了寺で菩提を弔ったと伝えられる。
It is reported that Kodaikyo, Kojyo Daishi, was founded by the Daidong Year (806 - 810). In front of Shizenjo who is pursuing Genoshioshi and is going to Oshu, he heard the death of Yoshitsune in this place, and it is told that it was condolated to the Bodhisattva here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 元々はＪＲ宇都宮線の栗橋駅近くにあり、高柳寺（静御前が亡くなったとされる寺）と呼ばれていたそうです。今現在、こちら（栗橋駅の方）には静御前の墓があります。
静御前の蛙蟆龍（あまりょう）の舞衣と守本尊、義経の懐刀などが所蔵されているとか。
Originally located near Kurihashi Station on the JR Utsunomiya Line, it was called Takayanagi-ji (a temple where Shizuka Gozen is said to have died). As of now, there is a tomb in front of Shizuka Gozen here (towards Kurihashi Station).
It is said that the dance clothes of the frog dragon in front of Shizuka Gozen, Takashi Morimoto, and Yoshitsune's sword are in the collection.
