This archeological site is located on the left bank of the Niida River, north of Hachinohe City, at an altitude of 10 to 44 meters above sea level. It is a collective term for Hotta Ruins (mid Jomon period), Ichioji Temple (pre-mid Jomon period), and Nakai ruins (late Jomon period). It is one of the representative ruins. The size of the village is smaller than those in the middle and late eras of the Jomon period, but various remains such as residential areas, grave areas, processing sites, dumps, and ritual sites have been found. There are swamps in the lowlands of Nakai Ruins, and a dump site was detected from there. In particular, a large amount of conker shells were excavated and deposited up to a thickness of 80 cm. From the dump site, plant tools such as lacquer ware and file, which usually do not remain rotten, have been excavated, and in swamps, a water exposure site has been found to remove the horse mackerel. In addition, based on analysis of pollen, seeds, trees, etc., the village and its surroundings are managed by the Jomon people centering on useful plants, and concentric artificial human beings that connect from artificial forests to satoyama to natural forests that are hunting grounds. It is thought that it created a natural ecosystem and coexisted with nature. The Jomon lacquer crafting technique that appeared at the Kakinoshima site was used not only to decorate tools but also to strengthen them. Even in the Korekawa Stone Age site, we manage sumac trees in artificial forests and satoyama to collect lacquer liquor, and cut and process trees that will become bare wood while considering the timing of lacquer liquor collection. This pottery style is named "cylindrical pottery" and is an index style for the early to middle period in the northern part of the Tohoku region. To the south of latitude 40 degrees north, Oki pottery is the index style. The Nakai site has many excellent lacquer arts and is a representative site of Kamegaoka culture.
