山の中腹にあり、小湊の街を眼下に
見る事が出来ます。
日蓮聖人が、小湊を発つ時に、両親の
事を思い浮かべ、振り返った場所なので、
振り返りの聖地となっています。
御住職・御寺族共にお優しく、朝早くに
参拝したにも拘らず、お茶やお菓子まで
御馳走になってしまいました。
感謝です。
平成26年12月参拝。

It is a sacred place for reflection.
Be kind to both priests and miteras, early in the morning
Despite visiting, even tea and sweets

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日蓮聖人見返りの霊跡。日蓮聖人は立教開宗の誓願をたてるべく、清澄山を目指して、ご両親に見送られながら、故郷・小湊を出発されました。しかし、参道にさしかかると、聖人の親を想う心は強く、いつ命を失い、再び親子の対面ができるか分からないと、ご両親のいる故郷・小湊を見返って合掌し、口の中でお題目を唱えらた霊跡です。

現存する最古の日蓮聖人の像とのことです。生憎お上人様はご不在でしたが、応対してくださった寺庭さま？がとても親切でした。誕生寺に行かれるならぜひこちらも寄ってみては？

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山号を光瑞山と称する日蓮宗の寺院で、由緒は建長5(1253)年、創建は寛文3(1663)年です。境内に安置された高さ6六尺、重さ100貫の日蓮聖人の銅像は、寛延3(1750)年の鋳造で、日本最古の聖人立像です。境内にも駐車可能ですが狭いため、本堂背面の県道285号沿いの駐車場が比較的便利です。
