中	中村誠司 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 社殿や境内の整備・清掃が行き届いている印象です。近くの富士神社の御朱印も受領出来ました。江戸時代には駒込神明宮と呼ばれ、駒込村の総鎮守として信仰を集めた社である。祭神が天照大御神であることから伊勢神宮の流れをくむ神明造りの社殿である。社伝によれば、文治5年（1189）源頼朝が、奥州藤原泰衡追討の途中この当りに寄った折、夢で松の枝に幣がかかっているという神託があり、家臣藤九郎盛長に探させたところ、松の枝に大麻が見つかった。それで頼朝は神明を祀ったという。「江戸砂子」によれば、直径4尺（1.2m）余の神木であったが、享保年間（1716-36）に枯れた。その後、宮守りもなく神社は跡絶え神木のもとに小さな祠のみとなったが、慶安年間（1648-52）堀丹後守利直が再興したという。昭和20年2月25日空襲により焼失したが、戦後再建し、参道敷石の整備や大鳥居の建設、植樹などに心がけ、緑濃く落ち着いた雰囲気を持つ境内である。近隣には駒込富士神社があり、かつて当社が兼務していた。 The impression is that the shrine and precincts are well maintained and cleaned. m	masahiro kudou on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2019.11.30参拝大きなお祭りもある立派な神社です。長い参道と境内にある銀杏が、今一番綺麗な頃です。コンクリートの綺麗な社殿ですが重厚で立派です。本郷から東大キャンパスに寄って、富士神社を経由して歩いて来ました。駒込駅からだと歩ける範囲だと思います。先に富士神社に寄ってこちらに来ると良いでしょう。こちらの天祖神社にて富士神社の御朱印も頂けます。素敵な御朱印、丁寧に対応して頂きました。（１社500円）近くには多数の寺院もあり、この地域には初めて来ましたがなかなか見所がありました。 2019.11.30 It is a fine shrine with a big festival.
