★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 会津若松から1〜2時間に一本くらいです。喜多方ラーメンの有名店はいずれも駅から歩ける距離にありますが、遠い店もあるので、クルマのほうが便利です。
駅の中に有ったニューデイズは閉店となりました

磐越西線の本数の少なさと、メインの蔵や喜多方ラーメンのお店のある通りが、徒歩で15分位離れているので、宿泊で無い場合は駅からタクシーも検討に入れた方が良さそう。
(会津若松駅からの乗り換えの接続が悪いです)

SLばんえつ物語の停車駅やフルーティアふくしまの始終着駅でもある。駅構内は、こ線橋でつながっている。ホームは、フルーティアふくしまに合わせている様子。駅構内にはみどりの窓口や待合室もある。
