★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 磐越西線の駅です。喜多方駅の隣で、喜多方市の郊外の駅といった趣です。
停車する列車は1日5往復。普通列車でも半数以上の便が通過します。
かつて国鉄時代によく見られた通過駅のある普通列車も、最近はすべての駅に停車するよう改められているケースが多いですが、ここは通過駅を残したままになっている感じでしょうか。
なお駅周辺は、賑わっているとまでは言えませんがそれなりに住宅もあり、秘境感はありません。すぐ脇に小学校もあります。

たまたま乗った列車が1日５往復しか停車しない列車で運がいい。
もっとも天高盛に行きたいのであれば喜多方で降りても距離は変わらないんですけどね。
でもなかなか降りる機会もないので、降りる機会があってよかったです。
Get off at Aizu-Toyokawa to go to Tenkoumori.
I'm lucky to have a train that happens to stop only 5 round trips a day.
However, if you want to go to Tenkoumori, the distance will not change even if you get off at Kitakata.
