The Amanogawa River Tunnel is a tunnel for hydraulic control. A wide range of hills have been carved out, and the construction of "bases" for academic research on product development of national institutions, various universities, and companies, "housing" for researchers working there, and "commercial facilities" associated therewith has been promoted. I did. As a result, forests and rice fields were destroyed, and the "water retention capacity (ability to store water)" that had been achieved was lost. During the rainy season (April-November), when there is a lot of rainfall (rainy season), the rain falls into the Amano River at once, and the water rises and floods this valley. As a "hydraulic measure", construction work was underway to widen the width of the Amano River from the upstream, but at the place where the river bends greatly, the aforementioned "Iwafune Shrine" and "God's body" There was a "rock cave", and it was not possible to destroy it and widen the river. Therefore, it was decided to tunnel through the rocky mountain at the bend and let the river flow. That tunnel is this.

I only go upstream, but it seems that downstream is good.
