Cons: Food was absolutely disgusting. The mushroom and chilli pepper had no sauce and was swimming in oil and water. It also had one pepper only.
The mushroom pizza was poorly constructed and the topping all fell off. Good crust though.
Took 15 minutes to pay because an employee was confused with table orders plus there was a language barrier.
Honestly don't know where these 5 star reviews come from. It's possible we had a one off bad pizza/pasta combo but i can't believe that low quality food is being served at a moderate price.
Also the 'Garlic toast' tasted like it was made by a toddler.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious - my partner and I came here at the recommendation of our host at Residence Yasushi and had a great meal, everything was tasty, a very reasonable price and we ate way to much !
The staff are friendly and helpful and we found the pace of when the food arrived to be good , but we are pretty relaxed and were more than happy to have a drink and chat while we waited.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful Italian food and wine at reasonable prices. The spaghetti bolognaise and pizzas were outstanding and the avocado salad amazing. They even had colouring pencils and paper for our kids and the staff were friendly and provided good service. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a family meal when staying in Nozawa Onsen.

So many things wrong. Where to start?
1. Waited over 10mins in the cold before they seated us inside.
2. Called a waitress to take our order. She looked directly at us then ignored us. (FYI: no language barrier)
3. They forgot to bring water we asked for.
4. All of our drinks and food came at very different times.
5. The hot drink we ordered was lukewarm.
6. They were taking food to tables that came in and ordered 30mins after us.
7. 5 ppl at my table ordered 1 dish each, all at the same time, but 1 persons came after 30mins and everyone else after a whole hour. (The restaurant did not even look busy...)
8. Food quantity and quality was not worth the price. Arrabbiata was much too spicy, Bolognese was basic, and “Scallop butter pasta” was soggy and had a hair and bits of shell in it. (See photos below).
9. When leaving, they refused to let us split checks, but after some persuasion they did it. They didn’t give us receipts.
10. Customer service was careless and inadequate.
Overall, quite a horrible experience.
Not worth the wait, nor the price.
Please go somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enjoyed the food and service. Knowing that pizza could be a tad bit slow I ordered bruschetta as appetizer. It was loaded with fresh cherry tomatoes and very tasty.
Being seated at the counter wasn't my first choice but actually OK as they try to accommodate larger groups at the tables.
It was easy to get a seat even on a peak season Saturday night. Service was friendly - perhaps me speaking Japanese helped. They take credit card via Square.
The mixed reviews likely stem from different expectations. This ain't Pizza Hut - it's a locally run restaurant. For pizza especially, expectations are so different (go chase me with a Chicago depends dish "pie"), that's its best to look at the photos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute and cozy place. Staff was very sweet although on a busy night, food took slightly longer than average. Food was all delicious and reasonably priced too. Pizzas and pastas were very tasty!! Would recommend but be sure to block out least 2 hrs for dinner
