★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The clerks here are unfriendly to foreigners. They talked to Japanese with smile, but when talking to foreigners, their attitude is quite bad. Also, the price of cards is 500 yen, which is really expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Katsunuma Winery was absolutely fabulous. We didn’t catch the name of the women working the tasting counter but she was extremely helpful, enthusiastic and kind. She called a taxi for us on her personal phone which helped us to get to the train station. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great location with outside deck next to a stream overlooking the vinyard. I particularly liked the Koshu white wines. Favorite was Aruga Branca Clareza. A very crisp and refreshing white wine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must to visit if you are in the area. Get your tasting card, charge it up and then pick from a selection of 20ish wines. Lovely terraace by the stream outside to enjoy the wines. The staff is also very friendly, and the owner can speak French.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This winery is great to get to try a lot of different wines for only 1500 yen. After buying a prepaid card, you can relax and take your time as you taste your way through each wine. The outdoor patio is very scenic and pairs great with wine. A very relaxing and easy experience. Bottle prices range from 1800-5500 yen.
