2022.4 Amarube IC exit 178 Turn left, turn left at the bridge, turn left in front of the village, go under the highway and immediately reach the forest road entrance. There is a gate on the forest road and cars cannot enter. The front of the gate is wide and you can turn and park. The forest road was a gentle climb to the end point and there were some fallen trees, but it was not a painful road. It took 18 minutes to reach the pothole waterfall, 8 minutes to the dam, and 30 minutes to Shinzu waterfall, and it took less than 60 minutes in total including the detour to the unknown waterfall in front of Shinzu waterfall and shooting. From the entrance to the pothole waterfall, there is no place to get lost along the forest road. After passing the pothole waterfall, there are two forest road branches, both of which are on the left. There is a clear forest road up to the dam, so please ignore the footsteps that go up the slope. If you follow the second branch and go straight to the left, you will find a dam and a plaza, which is the end of the forest road. The dam can be easily crossed from the right bank side. Since the top of the dam is buried, there is a small waterfall when heading upstream, and depending on the season, you can see the upper part of Shinzu Waterfall from a distance. Kotaki is light from the left bank. When you cross the small waterfall, return to the right bank and climb along the river, you will see a footstep toward the waterfall, so if you follow it, you will find a place like an old collapsed land. From this area, you can clearly see the waterfall and the footsteps are clear, so if you go to a place where you can walk easily, you will arrive. There is also an unnamed waterfall on your left. If you are accustomed to the area beyond the dam, there are no dangerous spots. There were many shrubs from beyond the dam, so the outlook may be poor depending on the season. Please be prepared and vigilant as it is an area with a lot of bear sightings. It was a wonderful waterfall that made me want to revisit many times due to the amount of water and different seasons.
