Kominato Railway Bus bound for Ushiku Station (IC card not accepted)
5 minutes walk from "Kasamori"
The number of buses is small, only a few per day.
The admission fee for Kannon-do is 300 yen.
Shooting inside is prohibited.
According to the temple, Saicho is said to have carved the eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva with the sacred tree of Kusunoki in the 3rd year of the Enryaku calendar (784), and it has been known as a pilgrimage sacred place since ancient times. Is commonly known as "Kasamori Kannon" because it is the principal image of the temple.
The Kannon-do towering above Oiwa has a structure called a four-sided kakezukuri supported by 61 pillars, and is the only unique architectural style and important cultural property in Japan. It is said that it was erected in the first year of Chogen (1028) at the request of Emperor Go-Ichijo, but it was burnt down after that, and the current building is from the 7th year of Tensho (1579) from the inscription found during dismantling and repair. It is said to have been rebuilt for two years (1597). It is that.
There are various things such as Niomon, Koukei Kannon, Sanmonsugi, etc. at the mountain gate (Fujin Raijin, Enma), but the highlight is the Kannon-do built on the rock, which is a wonderful building.
I think the admission fee of 300 yen is cheap, so please take a look.
Please be careful as the stairs are steep
Also, I think it's a little scary because you can see the bottom through the gaps in the corridor and the floorboard inside.
Inside, Kannon, old votive tablets, etc.
There is a promenade from the back of Kannon-do, but the maintenance is a little delicate and there is a collapsed part (the part is corrected with a rope), and since it is not paved and it is in the state of a mountain road, I think that sneakers etc. are good.
After that, if you use public transportation, please be careful as you have to walk for an hour and a half at the nearest station unless you decide the return bus time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is really cool! The inside of the temple is just as beautiful as the outside.
It does cost 300¥ to walk around upstairs, so have money!
