It is a temple of the Shingon sect in Watari Town. There were also statues of Kobo Daishi and Suijin in the garden. The inside of the temple is more spacious than the outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ もう、9年前になりますかね、ガンで亡くなったおじいちゃんをそちらの御骨室？に入居させてもらいました。おばあちゃんや叔父さんが話し合い、跡継ぎもいない事であるがために、お墓は作らずそちらに供養してもらっています。孫の私は当時おじいちゃんの死を受け入れる事ができず、3ヶ月になる息子を抱いては逃げるように外に出たりしていまし…本当ならば毎年供養に行きたいですが、どうしても行けないので、どうぞ、観音院様おじいちゃんをよろしくお願いします。

それは小さな案内表示に誘われて、
行ってみました。
町の指定文化財である
『木造 関の観音立像』
を拝めなかったのは、返す返すも
残念ではありますが、山門も本堂も
なかなか立派ですので、じっくりと
拝見させて頂きました。
お墓に、別の観音様が居られました。御姿も凛々しく、御顔も優しげな、
涼やかに微笑んで居られるみたいな、お美しい観音様でした。
明鏡山観音院は、天長6年開山との事
ですから、かなりの古刹です。
仙台藩・伊達家との かかわり合い
も深かったみたいです。
補足
葬儀や法要などが無ければ、
『木造 関の観音立像』を
拝観させて頂けるます。

観音院より、丁寧な御返信を

まで、 15分足らずです。

本日は法事で御忙しいのに、
『関の観音立像』を、
拝観させて下さいまして、
厚く御礼申し上げます。
『関の観音立像』は、
江戸時代の火事で左袖を欠損
したという事でした。
お痛わしく思いました。
御尊顔を拝し、光栄の至りです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 傾斜を上手く利用した墓地が並んでおり、小ぢんまりとですが、山門も建っておりました。早朝の為町指定文化財を拝むことは出来ませんでした。
