★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日本正教会最初の受洗者イオアン酒井篤礼の出身地。明治の初め迫害にあいながらも布教が行なわれ、この地方の各村々に教会が生まれた。現聖堂は川股松太郎の尽力によって1934年（昭和9）に建立。美しい姿は宮城の百景に入っている。
 Hometown of the first Japanese Orthodox beneficiary Itoan Sakai. Despite the persecution at the beginning of the Meiji era, missions were carried out, and churches were born in the villages of this region. The current cathedral was built in 1934 (Showa 9) by the efforts of Matsutaro Kawamata. The beautiful figure is in one hundred views of Miyagi.
