★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 観海寺は浄土真宗の寺院です。
寺伝では、その昔、観海という僧が創立して観海寮と呼んでいたそうです。ということは、大きな寺院の修行場だったのではないでしょうか。
やがて1828年（文政年間）、妙願寺の僧、順導がこの寺を再興したということです。
寺の本尊の阿弥陀如来は、江戸の芝増上寺の支院、清光寺を開基した潮瑞が赤沼の十王堂に寄進したもので、後に観海寺に移したのだそうです。
2019年の大水害で寺の建物は破壊されてしまいました。その後、現代風の小さなお堂が新築されました。
観海寺という寺号の由来としては、反乱のさいにあたかも海原をみるような光景が広がったことから名づけられたという伝説もあります。
Kankai-ji is a temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect.
A long time ago, a monk named Kankai founded the temple and called it Kankai Dormitory. So I think it was a training ground for a large temple.
Eventually, in 1828 (Bunsei era), the monk of Myoganji Temple, Shundou, rebuilt this temple.
Amida Nyorai, the principal image of the temple, was donated to the Juou-do Temple in Akanuma by Shiomizu, who opened Seikou-ji Temple, a branch of Zojoji Temple in Edo, and later moved to Kankai-ji Temple.
The temple building was destroyed by the flood in 2019. After that, a small modern-style hall was newly built.
There is a legend that the name Kankaiji is derived from the fact that during the rebellion, the sight of the ocean spread.
