かつての川湊の跡です。船が物流の主流だったころ、この場所は物資の集積地として大いに栄えました。今に残る石畳は当時の名残です。

いまは史跡として遺る河川湊跡です。 近くの金山城の軍需拠点として栄え、その後も木曽の材木や塩などの物流を担う湊としてこの地域の発展に貢献したとのことです。 この兼山湊跡への駐車場は無く、民家の生活路のような通りを抜けて行きますので湊跡入口まで車等で入らないほうがよさそうです。 湊跡は、石畳が綺麗に敷かれ川の下まで行くことができます。現在は河川に大規模なダムができ瀞状の緩い流れですが、昔はもっと急流で澱みの少ない拓けた河川敷だったようです。 当時の様相を想像しながら石畳のうえでのんびり過ごすのはとても気持ちいい場所だと思います。
It is a river port trace that remains as a historic site now. It prospered as a munitions base for the nearby Kanayama Castle, and has contributed to the development of this region as Minato, which is responsible for the distribution of lumber and salt from Kiso. There is no parking lot to this Kaneyama Minato site, and you will go through a street like the living path of a private house, so it seems better not to drive to the Minato site entrance. Minato traces are beautifully paved with stone pavement and can go to the bottom of the river. Currently, a large-scale dam is formed in the river and it is a loose stream, but in the past it seems that it was a riverbed that was opened with more rapids and less stagnation. I think it's a very pleasant place to spend a relaxing time on the stone pavement while imagining the situation at that time.
