Reasonable price during off season, but expensive during peak summer season. Rooms are comfortable and roomy.

Food, both dinner and breakfast is traditional Japanese food of little plates which were really good.

The furnishings in our room was dated and the layout/furniture placement made it difficult to navigate the room. The lighting was poor, with switches in awkward locations - so much so that my partner hit his head on the wall when getting up to use the washroom during the night. There was nowhere to hang clothing at all. The private onsen was also older but serviceable and there was an assessment of the content of the mineral water used. My hair and skin hasn't felt so soft in a long time. The staff was great, helpful there we no issues at all! 5 stars to the staff.

Moreover, there is private hot spring in your own room, which is coupled with a really quiet and tranquil atmosphere surrounded by the mountains, and spectacular view to see Suwa lake .
B	Benjamin Zhan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Onsen Shinyu hotel located on the shores of lake Suwa is really a treasure. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Suits with the private onsen over looking the lake is a post card in time and a unforgettable experience. The water is flowing with energy and felt very relaxed after a good soak. It is also worth noting that their dinner and breakfast meal packages are extremely delicious and nutritious using a variety of locally sourced and regional ingredients. The region is well known for their miso and it is also made on site here at the hotel. This hotel is a great base to also explore more of the Nagano region. Parking onsite complementary for staying guests. Would recommend and would stay again
